Special Needs Support Group
This informal volunteer group is facilitated by CTS. It meets once a month and offers its members education and networking through a variety of guest speakers and stimulating topics for discussion.

Developmental Screenings
Community Therapy Services offers free developmental screenings for children ages 4 months to 5 years. A 15-minute screening by one of our child development specialists will let you know whether your child is developing typically or if further evaluation is needed. Call us at (630) 208-8880 for scheduling.

The Hanen Program®
Parents and the home environment have by far the most impact on the development of children. The Hanen Program educates parents of young children who have language and developmental delays to optimize the child's gains in speech and language development.

Chatroom
This group was developed for children with diagnoses ranging from learning disability, auditory processing disorder, or high-functioning autism. The group focuses on appropriate social skills and being a good friend using games, free play, arts and crafts.

The following groups meet at Blazing Prairie Stars farm in Elburn. Call 630-365-5550 for more information.

Friendship Connection
This group focuses on social, communication, and problem-solving skills. Group members practice and learn important friendship skills such as sharing, making compromises, and resolving conflicts.

Champions
Here is a curriculum that is designed to empower youth with the skills they need to face life's challenges. Skills include learning to be respectful, controlling emotional outbursts, and learning to take more personal responsibility for one's own actions.

Services for children who have siblings with special needs
Our "Kids on the Grow" program, which is appropriate for all ages and all abilities, can help children address the special issues that face siblings of children with disabilities.
