  • American Speech-Language-Hearing Association-approved provider of continuing education units in the field of speech-language pathology (1999-present)

  • Member of the Illinois Delegation to Washington D.C. The mission of this six person delegation was to report to President Bush and the Cabinet on critical issues impacting upon the abilities of families to have "Healthy Children Ready to Learn" (1992)

GRANTS

  • Provider of funding for "Grandparents' Forum," an education, networking, and support group for grandparents of children with disabilities (1998-2000)

  • Recipient of a StarNet mini-grant to fund "Seeds 'n' Sprouts," a CTS- developed horticultural therapy program for families of children with disabilities (1999)

  • Recipient of an Illinois Department of Education grant designed to promote academics, self-esteem, and multi-cultural awareness in behavior disordered and learning disabled students through Music Therapy (1995)

AWARDS

  • Recipient of the "Innovative Practices in Communication Intervention for People with Severe Disabilities" grant through the Bureau of Child Research (1992).

  • Recipient of an Infant Mortality Reduction Initiative grant designed to collect information and report to the state of Illinois on the relationship between various parent - infant communication strategies, developmental delays, failure to thrive, and infant mortality (1985 - 1988).

  • Recipient of a "Families with a Future" grant designed to create informative literature and consultation techniques for use in public health clinics (1988).
